Rob Muirhead BChD LDS RCS (Qualified 1990 Leeds)
Rob has a special interest in cosmetic dentistry and transforming smiles to give his patients the look that they want. He also has a particular interest in occlusion (the way teeth meet) and occlusal disease which is a common cause of headaches, face and neck pain. Rob has undertaken a great deal of postgraduate study on occlusion and is a member of the British Society of Occlusal Studies.
Rob was among the first dentists in the UK to use the computerised “CEREC” system after the practice purchased a CEREC 1 machine in 1993. He has attended many courses on CEREC in the UK and abroad and is now a certified trainer and member of the International Society for Computerised Dentistry and teaches other dentists how to use this exciting cutting edge technology.
Paul brown BChD (Qualified in 1988)
Paul joined the practice in July 2007. He previously worked as an oral surgery clinical assistant at Birmingham dental teaching hospital between 1993 and 1995 and gained a diploma in general dental practice from the Royal college of surgeons. Paul has also completed the prestigious St Anne’s course in restorative dentistry under the tuition of Dr Paul Tipton. He has recently returned from a 15 month sabbatical in Melbourne Australia in a practice that focused entirely on cosmetic dentistry. Paul has a special interest in cosmetic dentistry and the restoration of dental implants. He is a member of the faculty of General Dental Practitioners and the Association of Dental Implantology.
Satya Patel BDS (Qualified 2003 Bristol)
Satya joined the practice in 2004 and currently undertakes all aspects of general dentistry with a special interest in placing dental implants. He has attended several post graduate courses in the UK and abroad and is currently undertaking a two year long Masters programme in implantology. This is the highest formal qualification in implantology in the UK. Satya accepts referrals from local dentists for patients requiring dental implants and endodontic treatment (root fillings).
Vandna Dharmar (Qualified 1991)
Vandna joined the practice in 2005 and is our resident periodontist . A periodontist is a dentist who has had specialist training on gums and we see this as an essential part of our service. Vandna is very experienced and can successfully treat more difficult and complicated gum cases so that patients can keep their teeth for longer.
Alan Tomkins (Qualified 1979)
Alan has been with us for many years and is our orthodontist. Alan provides orthodontic treatment using a variety of appliances to move and straighten teeth, close gaps and correct bite problems. Alan offers treatment with both fixed and removable braces.
Hygienists
Our dedicated team of hygienists work closely with our dents in particular Vandna, our periodontist to ensure our patients have the very best in oral health care and in the treatment of gum disease.
